short description:
I will concentrate on the more creative approach to songwriting rather than the more methodical and theoritical approach, you will be marked on your lyrical content and where applicable musical arrangement 10 sessions of 15 mins live
 
long description:
I will initially begin with what you want to gain from the course to ensure our wires are not crossing. I will set a theme to start the ideas flowing and talk briefly about songs / tunes and structure ( This will be the only real theory based aspect of the course ) then I will set a piece of work for you to complete and for me to look at upon completion. The ability to play an instrument would be an advantage but not a necessity as your coursework can be prodominantly songwriting - lyrics. The course will span over a 6 month period intiallly but could be negotiated with the ultimate aim being to stimulate ideas and creativity through Songwriting.

description of Teacher:
I have played the piano now since the age of 6 and took up the keybaord at 12 years old, 11 years on and I now teach children's keyboard and write songs and participate in a musical arrangement ( not a band ), we use Sadie technology in a studio to compile song layers but my main activity in the arrangement is the songwriting aspect both musically and lyrically. My main occupation however is a Marketing and PR Consultant whereby I went to University to study Media Production and have since gained 3 years in Industry and have worked for both Toyota and Honda
 
Teacher's qualifications:
Due to begin my PGCE in FE / Continuing Education in Sept 2001, I also hold a Higher National Diploma in Media Production, a European Driving Licence, an ONC in Web Authoring, Toyota Database programming qualification, a C and G Licentitiatship in New Media Techniques, I also have 10 GCSE's ( General Certificates of Education) and 2 A-Levels of which both I studied Media Studies
 
Teacher's preferred teaching style:
Musically my teaching technique concentrates more on the creative aspect of writing rather than the methodical theoritical approach, and work will be marked via it's lyrical content and musical if it can be sent via a PC Zip Format. The New Media aspect of my teaching will be based on some theory to begin with, moving on to a final project of how media techniques can be in-corporated into promoting an idea or company and this will be marked along with other essays set along the way to check a students understanding of the work done so far.
